Reliability of the System and Confidentiality of the Data

  • Insightrix has up time statistics of 99.9%. Extensive security exists so that the software and databases are not threatened by any attacks. All of Insightrix’s servers are located in a temperature-controlled, secure environment with directory protection and restricted access. No external or web access is available or allowed unless authorized by the project lead. The use of passwords by Insightrix staff is rigidly administered, and it is virtually impossible for unauthorized persons to access the project data. The server allows automatic recovery of data in the event of a computer failure, and data is backed up daily: these measures ensure that data is not lost in the event of a computer malfunction.
  • The system also has a power generator back up in the event of power failure. This means that our servers and the community will continue to operate, even if the power were to go out for an extended period of time due to unforeseen circumstances such as a storm.

Other general security measures taken by Insightrix include:

  • The Insightrix network is protected by a multi-layer redundant firewall system. Redundant Palo-Alto Networks next-generation firewalls form the primary line of defense, providing application-specific protection.
  • Insightrix uses industry standard Microsoft Active Directory Servers to control access to data. Data storage is partitioned and access is controlled per employee and by security groups (access control lists).
  • Insightrix protects its offices with 24-7 monitored alarm systems and closed circuit security cameras. Building access is restricted by company policy, and casual staff and professional staff work on separate floors.
  • SSL secured web portals are available to upload and transfer documents.
  • Hard copies of materials are stored in a locked office onsite. Insightrix enforces a “shred-all” policy for all hard copy documents that are no longer required.
  • Insightrix uses MobileIron to provide mobile device security. This software provides control over employee mobile phones, including encryption policies, password enforcement, remote lock and wipe, and lost phone recovery.
  • Insightrix uses a Microsoft Exchange email system that is locally hosted, providing robust control for corporate communications. Insightrix’s email is protected by a Barracuda Networks Spam & Virus Firewall.
